Description

The past several years have seen an explosion of high-level research into various aspects of massage therapy and bodywork. Yet most massage therapists don’t have the skills to actively analyze and evaluate a typical research article, much less participate in a project or take a leadership role in asking an important research question. This class focuses on increasing research literacy competence and confidence among all types of massage school faculty. We will provide strategies that will weave research literacy into already-existing massage education programs; we will provide examples of information that are currently available and relevant to students and teachers; and we will explore how teachers and students can apply findings to their hands-on work.
